BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Jan. 18, 2010 – The Q47 Series of elliptical cross trainers from Octane Fitness (www.octanefitness.com) has been awarded a Best Buy designation from a leading consumer publication based on a review of home fitness equipment in the January/February 2010 issue.
“We pride ourselves on our innovation and quality, and the Q47 ellipticals are incredibly popular because they are packed with exceptional features,” said Tim Porth, executive vice president of product development and marketing at Octane Fitness. “We've won 22 Best Buy awards in eight years, which fuels our drive to continue to revolutionize cardiovascular training.”
The magazine evaluates elliptical cross trainers based on “features, quality of construction, manufacturer's reputation and aesthetics,” and the Q47 Series was honored in the premium category.
Adjustable Stride Length Praised
According to the product review, “The Q47 stands out in the elliptical crowd for its supremely smooth and natural movement. We particularly like this model's ability to automatically adjust your stride length up to 26 inches as you speed up. It's a rare feature, and none handles it as effectively as this model does.”
The author adds, “Adjustable stride length is great, because it allows users of different sizes and workout intensity levels to ‘fit' on the same machine.”
One of the trademark features on the Q47 Series is Octane's patented SmartStride interactive ergonomics, which automatically replicates natural movements like walking, jogging, running and moving backward by monitoring an exerciser's pace and direction and adjusting stride length accordingly.
Q47 users also can take advantage of stride length programs, such as PowerWalk, Dual Direction, Stride Interval and StrideBurst, which vary stride length, direction and resistance to uniquely capitalize on cross training.
And, Octane's signature workout boosters, such as the X-Mode, GluteKicker and ArmBlaster maximize intensity and motivation for better results.
The Q47e model, which includes 20 preset workouts and Polar® wireless heart rate monitoring, and the Q47ce, which adds digital contact heart rate sensors, were Best Buys as well.
In 2007, the magazine named Octane's Q37e and Q37ce Best Buys; in 2004, the company's Q35e received the Best Buy designation.
The Q47 Series is sold at specialty fitness retailers nationwide for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $3,799 for the Q47, $4,199 for the Q47e and $4,399 for the Q47ce.
