In his new role, Sanders will take the helm of the iconic brand leading overall growth, while overseeing high-level product creation, marketing and production strategy.

Sanders brings more than 20 years of outdoor product management experience to his new role. Most recently, Sanders served as MSR category manager for combustion where he oversaw all facets of product research, design, development and go-to-market strategies for the brand’s stove category. Prior to MSR, he served as Senior Product Director for Snowboarding with K2 Sports where he oversaw the snowboard, boot and binding categories for the global company. He initially cut his engineering teeth at Boeing before joining K2 in 1997.

“Sanders truly embodies the MSR spirit as a strong engineer, product developer, and outdoorsman,” said Chris Parkhurst, COO, Cascade Designs. “We’re excited to see him take the reins in growing the brand and its product line, and ensuring the level of quality and design that adventurers and every-day-campers alike rely on in the backcountry.”

Through continued growth, MSR has also added a handful of new faces to the team, all co-located with MSR’s manufacturing facility in Seattle, WA.

Valerie Hernandez has been named Marketing Project Manager. In her role, she will manage workflows across the MSR marketing teams ensuring the cohesive and timely delivery of top class marketing materials from packaging, to advertising, to in-store displays. Hernandez brings with her a breadth of experience in marketing and project management in the influencer and product marketing space.

Brandon Bills joins the MSR team as the Media Relations and Marketing Manager. In his new role Bills will coordinate PR and media efforts for the brand, including the Global Health portion of MSR.
