Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment, a manufacturer of high-quality backcountry and mountaineering equipment, is expanding its current relationship with the American Hiking Society and is supporting the organization's annual National Trails Day, taking place around the country on June 4, 2011. Brooks-Range has provided 250 Field Organizers and Field Books that will be included in the Organizer Kits that are made available to people and organizations that are hosting National Trails Day events in their community.

Since 1993, National Trails Day has inspired thousands of individuals and community groups to take part in activities that promote healthy living and mental well being, protect green space, educate youth and adults on the importance of trails, and instill excitement for the outdoors. This year, 2,000 events will take place around the country including trail maintenance, hiking, paddling, biking, horseback riding, bird watching, running, trail celebrations and more.

“We have enjoyed working with the American Hiking Society and sponsoring their National Trails Day gives us the opportunity to help maintain our playgrounds,” said Jeff Blakely, general manager of Brooks-Range. “For a small company, Brooks-Range has a very strong commitment to giving back to the communities where our products are used. In addition to sponsorships like American Hiking Society and National Trails Day, our corporate philanthropy ranges from product donations, sponsorships of avalanche centers, and donating a portion of our proceeds to through 1% For the Planet.”
