(Denver, Colo.) - Big City Mountaineers (BCM), the non-profit that instills critical life skills in under-resourced urban youth through wilderness mentoring expeditions, announces the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. Nate Simmons, Michael Leming and Carol Sweasy join the leadership team as BCM looks to extend the reach and impact of its programs.
Nate Simmons, Partner at Backbone Media and Global Director of Marketing at Polartec, brings considerable brand building and outdoor industry experience to BCM.
Michael Leming, Chief Talent Scout at Nike, is passionate about the outdoors and using his resources to improve the lives of BCM kids.
Carol Sweasy, Chair of the Red Wing Shoe Company Foundation, has worked as a child psychologist for many years and has sat on numerous nonprofit boards, including Catholic Charities and the Courage Center. Carol's expertise in youth development and non-profit management will be invaluable as BCM continues to grow.
