Nautilus among NYSE’s biggest price decliners

Nautilus (NYSE: NLS) topped the list of “biggest percentage price decliners” among common stocks on the New York Stock Exchange. On Dec. 21, it closed at $2, down $0.18 or 8.26 percent compared to Dec. 18, on a volume of more than 138,000.

Nike’s Q2 income, revenue down

Nike (NYSE: NKE) reported better-than-expected second-quarter earnings as cost-cutting and a steady stream of orders helped offset weak sales in mature markets.

Second-quarter net income fell 4 percent to $375 million, or $0.76 per share, from $391 million, or $0.80 per share, a year earlier.

Revenue slipped 4 percent to $4.4 billion, with sales down in every geographical area except for Nike's emerging markets.

During the second quarter, revenues in North America decreased 4 percent to $1.5 billion. Footwear revenues declined 4 percent to $981 million, apparel revenues decreased 6 percent to $441 million and equipment revenues were up 1 percent to $74 million.

Revenue slid 6 percent in Western Europe and 24 percent in Central and Eastern Europe. In China, a market with double-digit growth last year, sales fell 3 percent.

Gross margins fell to 44.5 percent from 44.7 percent in the year-ago quarter, caused by higher discounting and foreign exchange impacts.

Orders for goods to be delivered from now until April fell 1 percent on a constant currency basis.

Cybex names new board member

Cybex International (Nasdaq: CYBI) reported that Robert E. Smyth has joined its board of directors.

He most recently served as president of Citizens Bank, Massachusetts, where he was responsible for leading the commercial banking business in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine as well as coordinating all of Citizen’s business lines in Massachusetts.
