Cathy Griffith, director of operations and senior show manager for the Outdoor Retailer and Fly-Fishing Retailer trade shows, has announced that she will be leaving VNU at the end of this month. Griffith, who joined Outdoor Retailer in 1988 as an intern, told SNEWS® that, "Leaving was a difficult decision for me because I have really loved my 14-year career here. But, as my two-year-old clings to me screaming 'no go work mommy' a change has to be made." SNEWS® View: VNU/Outdoor Retailer loses yet another great one. Griffith's professionalism, bright smile, and calm demeanor was a constant that exhibitors could count on at any trade show, no matter what the timing or situation. Her's will be very big shoes to fill indeed! That said, she's leaving for the right reasons -- family and her 2- and 5-year-old sons.
