Portland, OR (September 25, 2018) - TREW, designers and builders of style-inspired, kick-ass performance outdoor apparel, have been working for over a year with CAPOW!, an equally kick-ass backcountry ski guiding outfit out of Revelstoke, BC, to create the most unique, backcountry-specific outerwear kit to date.
TREW and CAPOW! both believe that with the right tools and knowledge, backcountry skiing can be a safe, fun, amazing experience, regardless of how gnarly (or not) your skill set. With direct testing and insight from the guides at CAPOW! TREW has designed and created a kit that offers the most important features for backcountry adventures: breathability, waterproofing, durability and fit
With over a decade of experience building technical back, side and front-country outerwear, the CAPOW! collection is TREW’s most purpose-designed, end-user-centric apparel yet.
The TREW CAPOW! Jacket features super stretchy, superlight, super breathable, fully waterproof fabrics with fully taped seams, laser cut pockets and refined color blocking for visibility in the great expanses and tight trees of the backcountry. Four roomy pockets offer maximum storage for skins, goggles and beers, and pit zips add airflow on the journey up.
TREW CAPOW! Bibs are designed with a pattern that’s engineered to move with the user, featuring a more tailored leg and articulation at the knee and seat. Uniquely well suited for the demands of backcountry travel and riding, the CAPOW! Bibs integrate a dedicated transceiver pocket that sits above the waist in an easy-to-access, zippered pocket. Stretch fabric at the top of the bibs allow you to go full knees-to-chin without a wedgie; and taped seams and laser cut and welded pockets keep the snow out, a big deal when you’re out all day.
“We love backcountry adventures, and we know that killer gear and some knowledge is the best way to achieve maximum enjoyment,” said TREW co-founder Chris Pew. “This kit advances backcountry gear by leaps and bounds, and we’re so glad to partner with our friends at CAPOW!, whose approach to backcountry activity is like a mind meld with ours. We’re combining professions and passions and we couldn’t be more stoked to offer the best backcountry kit to our fans, and their fans, so everyone can be safe and have more fun with friends in the snow.”
“Setting people up for success in the backcountry is our number one mission,” states Marty Schafer, founder of CAPOW!. “Partnering with TREW for this collab was the perfect way to get our message out to more like-minded people, and create the exact type of apparel that makes our jobs and our client’s experiences safer and more enjoyable, and the CAPOW! Guide staff is excited to wear it and proud to show it off.
Now’s your chance to look and feel like a guide, without all the training and #skibumlife.
