Plenty of water bowls and demos of the popular Swamp Cooler™ Vest and new Summit Trex™ Boots (great for protecting paws on hot sand) will be available to try, along with gear for sale. Staff will be on hand to help with gear fitting and answer all of your performance dog gear questions.
The Surf-A-Thon is a surf competition for dogs held at the Del Mar Dog Beach from 8:30am – 2pm on Sept. 8th. Humans and their dogs participate in 20 minute heats based on the dogs’ weight class. Judged on their ability to stay on the board, ride the wave, and have fun, those interested can find more information at the Surf-A-Thon website. Money raised through the Surf-A-Thon goes directly to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, a non-profit committed to the philosophy of people helping animals and animals helping people.
