North Vancouver, BC (September 30, 2014) ARC’TERYX, the technical leader in outdoor performance Apparel and equipment, is proud to receive the coveted Gear of the Year award from Outside Magazine for its freeride Rethel Jacket.

Brand new for the 2016 ski season. the lightly insulated Rethel Jacket preformed at the top of its category to snag Outside Magazine’s Gear of the Year Award, given only to a few select products recognized for exceptionally crafted outdoor gear with unrivaled performance.

As part of the Arc’teryx Whiteline Collection, the Rethel Jacket is designed to maximize energy efficient layering systems and freedom of movement. Constructed with breathable side panels for comfort and mobility, tester Frederick Reimers noted how the jacket allows for excellent ventilation, preventing overheating, while touring off-piste or catching one last run on-piste. “Diagonal vents over the rubs, which cool remarkably well for their size,” he said.

Constructed with 2L and 3L Windstopper® fabric, the Rethel Jacket provides excellent mobility and weather protection. And the Coreloft® insulation, in both 80 g/m2 and 60 g/m2 weights, provides a “stellar warmth-to-weight ratio”, Reimers commented.

POWDER Magazine also recognized the performance excellence of the Rethel for many of the same reasons, making special note of its sophistication and clean design.
