Seymour, Conn., April 1, 2016 – Active lifestyle brand Thule Group is pleased to announce it has hired Brian Bennett as their National Accounts & Business Development Manager for the Americas. Bennett’s primary focus will be leading Thule’s sales efforts at REI, and will also help the Thule sales team to develop new accounts and channels across multiple business areas.
“As we develop new channels of business outside of Thule’s traditional Carriers and Racks category, we will look to Brian’s strategic approach and vast product category knowledge to elevate the Thule brand even higher,” says Tim Shonk, Director of National Accounts, Thule Americas. “We reviewed hundreds of candidates for this role, so it says a lot about Brian, as well as the existing strength and direction of the Thule brand.”
Before joining the Thule Group team, Bennett worked for outdoor brand Patagonia for 13 years, most recently holding the position of REI Account Manager. With REI as his focus in that role, Bennett and team successfully grew Patagonia’s business into one of the company’s largest wholesale customers. Prior to his work at Patagonia, Bennett held sales and marketing positions at other outdoor brands including Mountainsmith, Kelty, and cycling manufacturer, Cannondale.
“I am very excited about joining the Thule team in a role that truly is tailor made for my career experience,” said Bennett. “The Thule brand touches virtually every outdoor activity and I am honored to have the opportunity to work across that entire spectrum and to continue working with my friends over at REI and beyond.”
