NEW PRODUCT

In Spring-Summer 2014, Nau will debut performance fabrications and outerwear pieces fit for a range of outdoor activities, cycling and travel. A new three-layer material, used in the classic denim jacket-inspired Tripoly Jacket, is the latest innovation in the technical hardshell category. The three-layer waterproof, breathable jacket has a 60-40 recycled polyester and organic cotton slub blend, marking the first time Nau is using a cotton-polyester blend for a three-layer fabrication. The resulting material has a soft hand for a natural feel against the skin and a matte aesthetic that provides a sophisticated alternative to traditional high-shine synthetic outerwear. The seam sealed design has a polyester tricot back and a DWR finish for increased protection from wind and water. A snap-off hood with a one-way drawcord and back velcro adjustment, combined with a low profile zip cuff with snap adjustment also help seal out the elements.

Nau will also debut the Atelier Fabric with the blazer-inspired Atelier Jacket. The Atelier Fabric is a water resistant, recycled polyester and organic cotton blend that is coated and bonded to recycled polyester knit to create a performance, softshell fabrication. The jacket features internal bound seams and has a DWR finish for wind and water resistance. Featuring a signature blazer silhouette with five button front closure and passport pocket, the Atelier Jacket transcends through travel, commuting to work and afterhours. The fabrication will also be used in the Atelier Hoody, a new technical, hooded softshell.

The Popu-Lace Hoody, also new in the softshell category, features a soft 60-40 organic cotton and recycled polyester fabrication blended in a twill weave for durability and protection against the elements. Inspired by heritage mountaineering anoraks, the pullover jacket has a front gusset with a laced webbing adjustment, an attached hood with a drawcord and snap tab, internal bound seams, elastic cuffs and a drawcord hem. An added DWR layer increases weather resistance and allows for a quick dry. Two front zip pockets provide space to store essentials.

For Spring-Summer 2014, Nau will offer an expanded range of performance sportswear, with an array of new cycling-inspired tops and bottoms that demonstrate versatility across outdoor activities. The Aqueous Short, designed from a softshell 60-40 organic cotton-recycled polyester fabrication in a twill weave, has a DWR finish for water repellency and quick drying properties. Partial mesh pocket bags allow for water drainage, while a velcro fly with webbing tie waist provide a secure and comfortable fit. Two front hand pockets and a security pocket inside the right front pocket offer space from small essentials. With an 8-inch inseam and regular fit, the Aqueous Shorts are ideal for a range of water sports, as well as hiking and trail use.

The Utilize Pant and Utilize Short are two new garment laundered bottom styles using an organic cotton twill fabrication. The Utilize Pant is a stylish cotton chino with technical features making the pant a great option for performance activities such as cycling. Features include: a hem that can be rolled to reveal reflective tape, articulated knees, and secure zip pockets. Nau will also introduce the M2 Zip Polo to cater to the growing urban commuter who seeks stylish separates that can transcend from the bike to the office. The M2 Zip Polo blends merino wool with sustainable Tencel® to provide the knit top with moisture wicking capabilities and breathability. A subtle micro-stripe pattern and reverse coil zip placket provide fashionable accents.

Rounding out the Spring-Summer 2014 product offering, Nau will also bring several new options, colors and textures to its organic cotton shirting category As an inherently technical, yet stylish fabric, cotton’s natural properties lend to lightweight and breathable design. The cotton polo category plays with an expanded color palette and soft textures; new introductions include: the To-polo-gy Stripe, an organic-cotton polo with a bold, four-color yarn dye stripe pattern; the Genus Polo Stripe, an organic cotton jersey fabric that uses heathered yarns to create a solid color stripe pattern; and the PK Stripe Polo, a striped polo that incorporates a subtle pique texture. Two travel-friendly, lightweight and breathable button-down shirts also join the woven cotton top offering, the Mutha Pucker Shirt and Mojave Dez-Shirt.
