Keely Kelleher Joins Descente

LAYTON, UTAH, September 16, 2013 – Descente, designers of premium ski apparel for those who value quality and technology, announced today that they have inked a sponsorship deal with former US Ski Team member, Keely Kelleher.

A Montana native, Keely was a member of the US Ski Team for 8 years. Her racing career culminated with her winning the title of US National Super G Champion in 2010 and being named a US Ski Team alternate for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.

At the conclusion of the 2010 season, Keely announced her retirement and began coaching summer ski camps on Mt. Hood, Oregon. This experience inspired her to start Keely’s Ski Camp for Girls (The first ski racing camp for girls in North America), which specializes in ski racing and big mountain camps.

Keely’s love of skiing and desire to compete prompted her to transition to the world of big mountain skiing. As a newcomer, she quickly made her mark as a two-time Big Mountain Skier X winner at the Rahlves Banzai Tour. She followed up her wins with back-to-back stints in Warren Miller’s 2012 and 2013 productions, Flow State and Ticket to Ride. More filming experience came with Sweetgrass productions as she will be an athlete skiing in their 2013 film Valhalla.

“There’s so much to admire about Keely,” said Weston Charlesworth, Team Manager for Descente North America. “Not only has she demonstrated that she’s a very talented and versatile skier, but she also loves the sport and is determined to give back to the industry by inspiring the next generation of competitive skiers.”
