Vancouver, BC – Hillsound—the leading producer of winter and fishing footwear traction and gaiters for urban and outdoor enthusiasts — welcomes elite endurance athletes and powerhouse couple Marshall Thomson and Stevie Kremer to its ambassador team. Thomson and Kremer started running together five years ago before climbing the ranks and landing podiums at top tier races year-round. Today they lead the pack in ski mountaineering and running races.

Thomson and Kremer, who currently live in Crested Butte, have each made a name for themselves, but also together. In 2011, they were the first-place co-ed team in Colorado’s Elk Mountains Grand Traverse—a grueling 40-mile backcountry ski race between Crested Butte and Aspen—and second-place team overall. Kremer impressively swept first place finishes at Wolf Creek, Grand Targhee, Snow King, Jackson Hole, and Divine Incline ski mountaineering races. Thomson, who suffered a lightning strike while on a bike ride with Kremer in 2011, won the 2013 Leadville Trail Marathon in 3:37:07 and set the course record for the 2013 Collegiate Peaks 50-mile race in Buena Vista, Colorado with a time of 6:53:28.

"Marshall and I love the Trail Crampon Ultras; they are amazing!” said Kremer. “We ran up and down our ski resort and did not slide once—it was incredible. Half the battle in ultra racing is the confidence that you won't fall when running downhill, and the Trail Crampon Ultras give us that confidence and made us fly! Incredible, really!"

The dynamic duo join Hillsound’s enthusiastic team of runners, ultra runners, ski mountaineers and anglers. “Stevie and Marshall aren’t just the type of athletes you want on your team,” said Hillsound Marketing Director Jessica Greinke. “They’re the type of people you want on your team. Their incredible enthusiasm and talent, obvious passion, and supportive dynamic as a couple make us tremendously proud to be adding them to the Hillsound Ambassador roster.”

Most recently, Kremer, together with her racing partner, placed first in her category at this year’s Elk Mountains Grand Traverse while Thomson was crowned Overall US Ski Mountaineering National Champion.
