Krimson Klover Announces Latest “Giving Back” Initiative

Local and global community support is part of the heart and soul of Krimson Klover.

Boulder, Colo. (August 22nd, 2016) - Krimson Klover, the Colorado-based lifestyle brand known for high-quality women’s apparel, believes donating time and profits is as important as the quality of clothing when it comes to growing the business and building community along the way.

Krimson Klover Founder Rhonda Swenson supports her community and important causes locally and world-wide. Along with KK, she donates time to Habitat for Humanity, taking build trips each year around the globe. Additionally, Swenson annually gives proceeds from select items in the collection to non-profits such as First Descents, which supports young adult cancer patients and survivors through outdoor experiences. The brand also donates products to organizations like Dignity U Wear, which supports women re-entering the workforce, and participates in events with a cause, including Pink Vail for breast cancer and SIA’s Learn to Ski & Snowboard Week. Swenson also sits on the working board of the Snowsports Industry Association (SIA). “Giving back is truly what makes the world go around,” states Swenson. “It is a core value of our company, so we make it a priority.”

One of the premier programs KK has designed for this fall, is for First Descents; a truly inspiring and progressive organization working with those living with cancer. This winter season, Krimson Klover will donate 5% of the proceeds from the ‘Ski Village’, one of their new merino blend base-layer sets. Those who buy the set, not only get the perfect gift, but also help make the holidays special for someone else.

“First Descents offers a life-changing experience for its very deserving participants. We partnered with FD last season to enable a small group of cancer patients to go on safari in Tanzania with my brother, who owns Thorton Safaris (http://www.thorntonsafaris.com/home.php). It was such an incredible experience we had to partner again,” explains Swenson.

First Descents provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (18-39) impacted by cancer, with free outdoor adventure experiences; empowering them to climb, paddle and surf beyond their diagnosis, defy their cancer, reclaim their lives, and connect with others doing the same. Founded in 2001 by pro kayaker, Brad Ludden, whose life was impacted by his own aunt’s battle with cancer in her 30s, First Descents began by offering young cancer patients kayak trips. The trips enabled participants to start “living beyond their disease,” giving them hope, self-confidence, and meaning while mitigating depression and anxiety. First Descents now offers mountaineering, surfing, rock climbing, and kayaking programs in 11 states and four countries, and serves over 1,000 18–39-year-olds every year.
