Copywriter Steps Away from the Keyboard, Throws Frisbee for Dog

In a recent development, Mike Mooers, the talent and inspiration behind Wicked Good Copy & Communications, took time away from his desk to throw a Frisbee for his dog, Jake.

“I was working hard – checking Facebook, reading about the Giants, thinking about a new cell phone – when I got the look,” says Mooers.

“If you have a dog you know it – ears up, eyes big, Frisbee in mouth. Well, at that point I realized that the life/work balance needed to tip Jake’s way.”

Mooers threw the Frisbee – an Olly Flyer – in the field next to his office. Jake ran back and forth catching it. Then each performed their role again. And again. And again and again and again. Eventually, upon canine exhaustion, the team returned to the office’s desk area where Mooers resumed his hard work and Jake lay under the desk panting like a Kundalini Yogi.

When asked if the scene would repeat today, Mooers replied, “ H#ll, no. It’s like 90-something degrees. C’mon – Jake’s a black lab. Why don’t you go run wind sprints in the hot sun while you’re wearing a black fur coat? Geez.”
