We’ve been waiting for this moment a long time, and now it’s arrived! Our new, beautiful website is up and running.
We’re sure you have questions on how to keep doing everything you’re used to as a paid subscriber — such as posting press releases — and how to manage your account, change your password or update your email address.
We’re here to help. If we haven’t addressed your question below, please email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Posting Press Releases
One of the perks of being a paid SNEWS subscriber is that you can post as many press releases as you like, any time of day or night.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to post a press release:
1.) Go to www.snewsnet.com.
2.) Click “Log In” at the top right corner of the home page screen.
3.) Sign in with your username and password.
4.) Once you log in, you’ll see the press releases section on the right side of the screen. At the very bottom of all the releases there’s a tab that says “Post.” Click this tab.
5.) This will take you to the “Add Press Release” screen, where you can type in the title, copy the text and schedule it for any date to go live.
6.) If you want to add a photo, place your cursor anywhere in the text you’d like the image to appear. Then click “Add Media.” (Update: This feature currently is not showing up for all subscribers, we are working to fix the issue)
7.) Drag and drop the photo into the box and your photo will appear. Click on it, and when the check mark appears on the photo, click “Insert into page.”
8.) If you want to move the photo to be oriented to the right, left or center, put your cursor on the photo and then click on the photo icon that appears. You can choose the photo orientation.
9.) Scroll below the text box and click the sections in which you’d like your press release to appear (i.e., Outdoor Industry, Trade Shows, etc.).
10.) Click “Publish Press Release,” and you’re good to go!
If you want to see any of your past press releases, click on the “My Press Releases” tab at the top left side menu.
Updating information: Addresses, job title, company
Updating your information is a piece of cake.
1.) Log in with your username and password.
2.) Click on “Welcome, [your email]” at the top right of the screen.
3.) Click on “My User Profile” on the Side Menu.
4.) All your current information comes up. Change what you like, and then hit “Update” at the bottom right.
Industry Directory
Little known fact: We have an industry directory.
Even lesser known fact: Subscribers can manage their entries within that directory.
One of the many perks of being a paid SNEWS subscriber is a guaranteed entry into our industry directory and full access to all the other entries within it.
Here’s how to update your Industry Directory listing:
1.) Log in the same way you did with press releases.
2.) Go to the top right corner of the home page, where you see your email address or name, and hover your cursor above it
3.) Click “Manage Account.”
4.) Then click on the “Edit Industry Directory Listing” on the Side Menu.
5.) Enter your company’s name in the “Company Name” box.
6.) Describe your company in the text box.
7.) Scroll down and click all boxes that apply to your company.
8.) Click “Save Company Description.”
Now that our site is easier to navigate and a lot sleeker, it’s time to start taking advantage of the Company Directory.
Manage Subscriptions
All SNEWS subscribers have the option to add “Seats” to their subscription, much like everybody is allowed to add a family member to a gym membership.
To add members to your subscription follow steps 1-3 in the previous two sections then follow these directions from there:
1.) Click on the “Manage Account Detail” on the Side Menu.
2.) You can either add a seat for another subscriber by clicking “Add Additional Seats” or you can change your Subscription Plan by clicking “Available Subscription Plans.”
3.) Follow the steps to pay for whichever option you choose (whether it’s adding a seat or changing your subscription).
Changing Passwords
In the old days (meaning before last week) we were able to tell you what your password was if you forgot it, but we’ve taken the advice of some of our friends and decided to protect your privacy — even from us.
We no longer have access to your passwords, so we can’t send them to you via email or tell you on the phone if you happen to forget.
You’ll have to go through the process to change your password as you do with other accounts you may have, such as iTunes or New York Times subscriptions.
Here are the steps to follow if you forgot your password OR username:
1.) Go to the SNEWS homepage (www.snewsnet.com).
2.) Click on the “Login” tab at the top right of the homepage.
3.) Click on “Forgot username or password?”
4.) Enter your email and click “Get New Password.”
5.) Check your email for the confirmation link.
6.) Click the confirmation link within the email (if you don’t see the email right away, make sure to check your spam or junk folder).
7.) Choose a new password and click “Change Password.”
8.) Voilà! It’s done!
