With the winter season gearing up and the world coming together in less than 80 days to celebrate athleticism this February in Sochi, Russia, The North Face today announced the launch and sale of its Villagewear Collection. The Villagewear Collection captures the international spirit of the upcoming global competition, as it welcomes the world’s greatest athletes, through iconic The North Face styles and unique, athlete-inspired designs. As a sponsor of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and founding partner of U.S. Freeskiing, the launch comes on the heels of The North Face U.S. Freeskiing Competition Uniform debut last month.

Representing the top six medal-winning countries of all-time and inspired by the victorious athletes wrapped in their country’s flag, these limited-edition products pay homage to the athletes, teams and nations committed to reaching the highest level of athletic achievement.

“The North Face Villagewear Collection celebrates the excitement of the upcoming competition in Sochi, and the stage it has created for the world’s elite winter athletes in 2014,” said Action Sports Product Director Jasmin Ghaffarian. “The North Face is honored to commemorate this highly anticipated moment in sports history.”

Countries represented in this collection include the United States, Canada, Russia, France, Italy and China, as well as global themed apparel. These country themes are played out across tee shirts and hoodies as well as The North Face iconic Nuptse Vest and Denali Jacket. All items will be available in stores across the country and on www.thenorthface.com starting Nov. 25

The North Face has been helping the world’s best freeskiing athletes push the limits of sport and self-expression since the beginning of the freeskiing movement over 25 years ago. As the industry leader in technically advanced outerwear, The North Face is continuing to support the next evolution of freeskiing as the sport leaps onto the world’s biggest stage for the first time this winter in Russia.
