Park City, UT (March 31, 2014)- RAMP Sports announces the Art of Shred (#artofshred), an art contest to promote reusing and upcycling within the Park City, Utah, community. Contestants will create an art piece from manufacturing scraps provided by RAMP, and the winner claims a full RAMP ski or board setup.
Building on the new 30-foot yeti—built from repurposed factory scrap—that lives outside the RAMP factory, the Art of Shred contest brings visibility to upcycling as art, as well as the Park City art community. Leveraging the event for social media, the contest requires artists to post a picture of the finished art to the RAMP Facebook page by April 30th. Winners will be selected May 5th.
Scraps for the contest can be picked up at the RAMP factory and include old skis, FSC bamboo, Kevlar, carbon, fiberglass, mold byproduct, top sheets, and more. Factory scraps must make up at least 90% of the completed project.
Scrap pickup times are Mon-Thurs 9-11 am and Wed/Thurs 3-5 pm. Ask for Vanessa at the front desk. For questions regarding the contest, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
