Precision Travel Werx –launched the Atlas 8 sport cargo trailer in January 2012 to fulfill the cargo carrying needs of on-the-go families with smaller cars. Making its debut at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Precision Travel Werx will unveil its new tent accessory, the Atlas 8 Base Camp. The camper unit provides space for up to four adventurers to sleep within its confines.,

The tent is designed with the same elegant simplicity as the Atlas 8 trailer while delivering on the “must haves” for comfortable camping. The structure is self-supported, requiring no ropes or guidelines for quick, simple set-up. Generous mesh windows fill the walls on three sides for excellent visibility and ventilation. The ground cover features a stout tub design that provides moisture resistance and durability. The total floor space of 60 square feet includes a sleeping section inside the trailer and a storage/sitting area for use when holed up in bad weather.

“The original benefits and features of the Atlas 8 cargo trailer remain unchanged”, said Larry Brown, founder of Precision Travel Werx, “Feedback has been overwhelming in favor of adding sleeping capability. People very quickly saw that we had delivered on the ability to transport their gear efficiently, now they want to get off the ground when they sleep while maintaining their mobility. We believe this answers their call.”

The Atlas 8 trailer has a resin transfer molded fiberglass body mounted on an aluminum frame, with an empty weight of 550 lbs., it’s easy for anyone to move or reposition the trailer and allows it to be towed by almost any vehicle on the road. Total cargo capacity is 1,000 lbs., for a total gross axle weight rating of 1,550 lbs. The Atlas 8's aerodynamic design looks at home behind any vehicle and can be color-matched to any manufacturer's specifications or wrapped in limitless custom designs from camouflage to company branding.
