Louisville, Colorado – TreePod, the innovative portable treehouse, has been cherry-picked by Dr. Toy, a noted child development authority, as one of the top 100 Children’s Products for 2016.
“It’s a nice feather in our caps to be singled out by such an expert in the field and in such a small list,” said the CEO of TreePod, Ricardo Bottome. “With so many toys out there to choose from, receiving this award is a great reminder of how much kids, and parents, enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
Officially launched in April 2016 after a successful Kickstarter campaign, the TreePod – part treehouse, part tent, part hammock – has already collected a few other notable accolades from industry experts and parent groups. Outside Magazine editors selected it as their “Gear of the Show” at Outdoor Retailer 2016, and more recently it was given the prestigious “Seal of Approval” from the National Parenting Center.
“We review a lot of products in order to make this list,” explained Stevanne Auerbach, Ph.D., creator of the Dr. Toy Awards, “and the TreePod really stood out as ingenious way for kids to actively engage with the outdoors – or quietly read in their own special space. Either way, they loved it.”
Auerbach has over 40 years of experience evaluating, writing and speaking about toys and children’s products. She has also published over 15 books on the subject.
Built from durable nylon and lightweight aluminum framing, the TreePod easily hangs from a sturdy tree branch or it can be set up with a specially designed TreePod Stand (sold separately). Simple to set up and take down, the TreePod can turn the most basic backyard into a colorful hideaway for kids and adults alike.
