Paradox Sports Announces Fifth Annual Paradox Ice Events
Boulder, CO (Dec. 10, 2013)– Paradox Sports is pleased to announce that the fifth annual Paradox Ice events will take place in North Conway, N.H. on Feb. 7-9 and Ouray, Colo. on Feb. 28 – March 2. These events are open to people with physical disabilities, their families or caretakers and military veterans.
Paradox Ice features hands-on instruction on how to use specialized equipment and adaptive techniques needed to climb vertical walls of ice. Registration includes meals, lodging, equipment rentals and guide services.
Paradox Ice in Ouray, Colo. includes a community night fundraiser on Saturday, March 1 at the Ouray Community Center. The fundraiser will consist of screening short films and a live auction. All proceeds will be split between Paradox Sports and Ouray Ice Park, the world's first park devoted exclusively to the sport of ice climbing.
Co-founder and below-the-knee amputee, Malcolm Daly, launched Paradox Ice in 2008: “Ice is the great equalizer. None of us can climb it without adaptive equipment. We just go one step further.”
