DJ Paul Oakenfold, who has created remixes for The Rolling Stones, U2, Moby, Madonna, and hundreds more, has always tried to push boundaries through his music. That’s why the world-renowned, two-time Grammy Award winning British DJ trekked the highest point in the world to play his music on Mount Everest basecamp – 17,600 feet above ground.
In the new trailer for the documentary, Soundtrek Everest, with a release date still TBD, Oakenfold describes this 2017 trip to Nepal and eight-day hike as completely getting him out of his comfort zone and pushing him creatively.
“We can take the music out of the traditional set up. It doesn’t just have to live in night clubs.” says Oakenfold.

Oakenfold even wrote fresh music incorporating the unique sounds he encountered along the way, from a bustling market place to the fierce winds as he climbed the peak.
