Zamberlan Unveils 2008 Vicenza, Explore, and Ascent Collections

Sought After Italian Boot Maker Brings to Life the Art and Sole of World Class Outdoor Boots for Everyday and Mountain Sport Activities with High-End Materials, Classic Design, and Optimum Fit

Salt Lake City, UT (January 23, 2008) - Zamberlan, the leading producer of world class outdoor boots, unveils new Vicenza, Explore and Ascent Collections at the 2008 Outdoor Retail Winter Market in Salt Lake City, Utah (Booth #33183).

According to the Outdoor Industry Association, more than 159 million people over age 16—two-thirds of Americans—participate in outdoor activities each year.

The benefits and performance of these new outdoor footwear lines from Zamberlan are ideal for any outdoor activity, whether it's extended backpacking trips, weekend hikes or an everyday adventure. The Zamberlan Vicenza Collection of full leather Italian made boots are designed for anyone participating in mountain sport activities or working outdoors who require tough protection that is both supportive and comfortable. These classic Italian boots employ premium Italian leathers for improved water resistance and durability, plus high resistance hardware to handle the hits and scuffs common in outdoor activities. The low and mid-cut shoes in the Ascent Collection are designed for rugged performance for activities like hiking and adventure travel.

Chief to what sets Zamberlan apart from others is that Zamberlan develops extremely comfortable and well-fitting boots that are engineered, not manufactured, with only the best materials. Founded by Giuseppe “Bepi” Zamberlan, this family run business has been handcrafting leather boots at their factory in Italy for nearly 80 years. Zamberlan anatomic footbeds, rich Italian leathers, VIBRAM® outsoles and GORE-TEX® liners deliver the best possible combination of technology, performance and comfort in outdoor footwear. Each boot is handled by several trained artisans to ensure the highest levels of quality and workmanship. It is this commitment and attention to detail and quality that make Zamberlan boots world class.

“Although the factory is equipped with modern facilities operated by our highly skilled workers, Zamberlan boots can still be considered hand made products - a tradition that has continued for over 80 years,” says Marco Zamberlan, Zamberlan's President.

“When you've been walking for six years and covered 23,140 kilometers, each morning you wake you face a number of challenges and worries. Not having to worry about the quintessential items of your equipment like the boots on your feet is a big deal. Every step of the way I have been supported by Zamberlan and I (my feet and I) could not be more happy,” said Karl Bushby, Goliath Expedition.
