Xterra Wetsuits Announces Aquaphor New York City Tri Sponsorship!

SAN DIEGO, CA – Best-selling triathlon wetsuit brand XTERRA WETSUITS announces its sponsorship of the 2013 AQUAPHOR NEW YORK CITY TRIATHLON (NYCTRI). The 13th annual AQUAPHOR NYC TRIATHLON, which takes place on July 14, is an Olympic distance race that welcomes thousands of athletes to take on the Big Apple. Due to its great popularity, the race holds an entry lottery for triathletes hoping to compete.

Known for its iconic, Manhattan-based course, the AQUAPHOR NYC TRIATHLON features a swim in the fast-moving Hudson River, a bike course along the scenic Westside Highway - only closed for the triathlon – and a run through thousands of spectators across West 72nd Street, finishing in Central Park.

AQUAPHOR NYCTRI is a multi-faceted race event. Race day will host the Accenture Challenged Athletes National Championship. Race week kicks off with the Aquaphor Diaper Derby and the Fresh Pair Underwear Run in Central Park.

Offering the highest performing triathlon wetsuit at the best value, XTERRA WETSUITS has been producing the world's fastest wetsuits since 2001. Our sponsored athletes have the records to back up the fast talk - the world record for fastest wetsuit swim was set in an XTERRA WETSUIT. Our triathlon wetsuits were born in San Diego, the birthplace of triathlon. XTERRA WETSUITS are designed with four key components in mind – comfort, speed, buoyancy and value. We test the suits right here in Mission Bay, home of the first ever triathlon – the XTERRA Wetsuits Mission Bay Triathlon (1974). Founded and operated by triathletes, XTERRA WETSUITS understands triathletes‘ competitive and training needs.

The Aquaphor New York City Triathlon is one of the largest and most popular Olympic distance triathlons in America. Now in its 13th year, entry is by lottery only or through a participating charity partner. With nearly 6,000 entrants, the race covers an iconic course throughout Manhattan. The NYC Triathlon also hosts the Accenture Challenged Athletes National Championship – the only paratri race that offers prize money. The race is organized by New York City based Korff Enterprises.
