Workshop at OutDoor 2007: "The Next Generation” What Do Today's "Kids" Think about the Great Outdoors?

Friedrichshafen, Germany – Today's children and young people are tomorrow's outdoor customers. How can we appeal to kids? What do official statistics tell us? Who is this upcoming generation of young adults? What trends do they follow? How important are the great outdoors and nature to them? What language do they speak and how would they like to be addressed?

Friedrichshafen, Germany – Today's children and young people are tomorrow's outdoor customers. How can we appeal to kids? What do official statistics tell us? Who is this upcoming generation of young adults? What trends do they follow? How important are the great outdoors and nature to them? What language do they speak and how would they like to be addressed?

You will find answers to all these questions at "The Next Generation" workshop held during OutDoor in Friedrichshafen, Germany on Saturday, 21 July 2007 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Conference Centre. Well-informed speakers will talk about tomorrow's consumers. The workshop starts off with a presentation of demographic figures from NPD Sports Tracking Europe. This subsidiary of the German market research institute GfK will reveal the results of studies and current developments in the outdoor and youth sector. Then the German Alpine Association (DAV) takes the stage to discuss outdoor youth in Germany. The association will briefly examine similar organizations in neighbouring European countries to shed light on developments in the international youth scene. DAV youth work has been successful across Germany and, in contrast to other demographic developments, the organization has achieved excellent growth among its young target group.

It is not easy to win over young people as buyers and to position brands among this target group. The third presentation will focus on how to appeal to young people and what commercial approaches and projects have been introduced for the new generation. Trend research provides the answers here. Afterwards, participants will have an opportunity to engage in a discussion with the presenters.

Date: Saturday, 21 July 2007, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Conference Centre, West Entrance.
