Woolrich and young innovative pack makers team up on Made in USA Collection

Woolrich, Pennsylvania, October 17, 2013 — Woolrich, the venerable outdoor brand has partnered with TOPO Designs, makers of functional gear carriers from Denver, CO, to create a collection of made in American bags and accessories that feature Woolrich wool.

The collaborative collection includes TOPO’s popular top loading Klettersack backpack, Duffle bag, and Dopp Kit. Each piece is made with wool from the Woolrich Woolen Mill, the nation's oldest continually operating woolen mill, and features details such as natural leather tabs, bright contrasting zippers and color popping straps and cord loops.

“The collection looks really unique! Our friends at TOPO Designs and our creative team did a great job of integrating our company’s heritage into a collection of superiorly functional bags,” said Patrick Nebiolo, Woolrich Executive Vice President.

“Our packs are known for their vibrant colors and color blocking,” said Jedd Rose, ‎Founder, Creative Director at Topo Designs. “Working with wool as a body material was new for us, and the texture and designs of the fabric brought a whole new look to the bags that we really proud of.”

Each piece in the collection is offered in a buffalo check mix color that features two colors of Woolrich’s famous buffalo check plaid laid in various directions for a visually stunning result.

The other colors in the collection pay tribute to other key elements of Woolrich’s storied history. During the Civil War Woolrich provided blankets to soldiers and the second model of the Klettersack has a design inspired by those blankets. The bag has a light grey body with a dark grey stripe that wraps around the lower third of the bag. MSRP: $249

For many years Woolrich supplied wool to the maker of the official US Navy pea coat and models of the collection’s Duffle and Dopp kit pay homage to that legacy with a solid pea coat navy color. MSRP: $189

For over a century hunters have relied on Woolrich to keep them warm and comfortable in the woods and at camp and hunt orange wool is used for the second Dopp kit MSRP: $29
