Vancouver, British Columbia, June 14, 2012 — Westcomb Outerwear (www.westcomb.com) extended their tradition of innovation this week, as the only 100% North American-made apparel brand to receive a 2012 North American Apex Award.
The North American Apex Award is a prestigious honor going to the finest Polartec-based garments available to consumers for fall 2012. A panel of judges selected 12 winners for 2012, based on style, function, workmanship, and fit, as well as the most innovative and appropriate uses of Polartec® fabrics in the designs.
Westcomb won the 2012 award for the Fuse LT Jacket and Shift Hoody – a pair of unique designs created with Polartec® NeoShell®, an extremely versatile performance fabric that sets a new standard for lightweight breathability.
Westcomb was the first company to create a garment with Polartec® NeoShell® fabric, designing and distributing the Westcomb Apoc in fall 2011.
Based in Vancouver, Westcomb’s 100% made-in-Canada manufacturing facility has taken home seven North American Apex Awards since 2006. Previous Apex winners for Westcomb include the Apoc Hoody (2011), Recon Hoody (2008), Trailblazer Pants (2007), Fusion Jacket (2007), and Rebel Hoody (2006).
