Red Wing, MN – June 4, 2009 - High performance outdoor footwear manufacturer, Vasque, is extremely pleased to announce that Vasque athletes from around the globe continue to post outstanding performances. Most recently, Vasque international trail athlete, Hiroko Suzuki, earned top female finish in the 16th annual Bishop High Sierra 50 miler, Krissy Moehl, of Seattle, WA, earned top female finish in the Pocatello 50 mile race, and NC based trail athlete, Shiloh Mielke, won the Rock2Rock 10K Trail Run in Asheville.

Suzuki earned the top female finish in 16th annual Bishop High Sierra 100 km with a time of 13:23:21. “I am so appreciative of the people I met and the environment and scenery I ran through,” said Suzuki. “At first I was uneasy because of a completely different race environment, such as elevation, dry weather condition and desert heat. I felt at ease when I finished without any trouble.” A competitive trail runner for the past 5 years, Suzuki is training hard for the Tour du Mont Blanc in France later this summer.

The Pocatello 50 Mile Trail Run took Krissy Moehl on a challenging, glorious tour of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest outside of Pocatello, Idaho. Finishing with a time of 10:13, Moehl stated, “The race had great climbs, beautiful scenery, perfect weather, solid group of participants, overly stocked aid stations, photographers, videographers, and the list goes on. I'm so thankful that I was able to join the great crew.” Moehl, a player in the trail running community for nine years, is looking forward to also a strong finish at the upcoming Western State 100 miler.

Mielke won the 3rd annual Black Dome Rock2Rock 10K Trail Run in Black Mountain, North Carolina this past weekend with a time of 43:48. “I got a new course record and feel confident that I was able to out-climb a 2008 mountain team member,” said Mielke. World‐class mountain runner and impressive endurance runner, Mielke is looking forward to earning his way to the World Mountain Running Championship in Campodolcina, Italy later this summer.
