CHAOS Returns to Vail

Vail Valley Foundation and Chaos Headwear team up for the
NEW “STEEL & SKY” RAILS CONCEPT HIGHLIGHT
at 2007 HONDA SESSION

Steamboat Springs, CO-
CHAOS returns to Vail Valley with the Honda Session! Chaos headwear and Vail Valley Foundation have signed a three year sponsorship program for participant gifts, as well as co-branded event merchandise of caps and beanies available at retail during this upcoming 2006/2007 season. This partnership is monumental for this young brand to expand its consumer draw and retail demand. This year a Chaos Tent will be in the Expo area with additional hats for the audience-“play to win,” come by and meet our athletes.

Chaos supplies a specialty line of caps and beanies for three major Vail Valley Foundation events to reflect their personal energy and demographics: Honda Session, Birds of Prey- Down Hill, and the American Ski Classic. The Honda Session is one of the best of its kind world wide--highly coveted pro-invitational snowboarding event. This event conjures a new roster of national and international elite athletes to Vail for large cash awards and mind stirring televised airtime!

“Since we were just apart of the Birds of Prey in December, we learned what we could do more of and better for the Session, We have increased our role and will be in the expo area with more hats, banners and athletes and Vail Valley in return, will also have more to offer at retail. This has been an exciting partnership in that we can design, provide a service, an event giveaway and even branded event merchandise for the local retailer,” remarks Debbie King Ford, regional representative.

This month the innovation and progression will once again take center stage, January 10-14 as Vail's 2007 Honda Session will literally take the traditional Rails course and competition to new heights, while the invitational snowboard extravaganza, celebrating its fifth anniversary, will bask in a national network television spotlight for the first time.

John Dakin with Vail Valley Foundation describes the night, “Always in search of new ways to remain on the cutting edge of the sport, organizers will enhanced the Friday evening Rails course with a massive snow quarter-pipe, incorporating elements of air and style into the precision of riding the rails. Along with the new concept comes a new name: STEEL & SKY.

The precursor to this move came in 2005, when course designers incorporated a plastic quarter-pipe into the Rails configuration. When riders had difficulty fully utilizing the plastic feature, the snow solution was employed last winter, receiving rave reviews from competitors and spectators.”

This is an ideal situation for a hipper supplier, when a platform has added value gifts that can create demand at retail to support the foundation and allow the retailers to benefit from the thousands of participants and visitors wanting cool event memorabilia. Chaos Headwear is honored to be selected as a partner to a foundation with so much depth and social contribution to its community.

The Chaos tent will be located directly adjacent to the Honda Session Stadium at the base of Golden Peak, the Honda Base Camp will feature a smorgasbord of games, music, product sampling, board waxing and prize giveaways, not to mention food and beverage.

The Honda Base Camp will also be the location for a free Saturday evening concert, featuring Denver favorite Dressy Bessy, which will serve to officially kickoff the Bud Light Slopestyle festivities.
