Up and Coming Snowboarders Look Towards the Future
Two Gramicci sponsored athletes continuing ‘Outdoor Outreach' to help at risk youth
AGOURA HILLS, Calif., January 7th, 2011 – Two Gramicci sponsored athletes, Ryan Hudson and Jesse Delgado, are gearing up for a strong start to 2011. Both professional snowboarders discovered their love of the outdoors when they participated in the “Outdoor Outreach†program.
Outdoor Outreach is a San Diego based 501(c)3 that empowers at-risk and underprivileged youth to make positive, lasting changes in their lives through comprehensive outdoor education and programs; sponsored, in part, by Gramicci.
This season on the 2011 North Face Masters of Snowboarding circuit, Ryan is looking forward to having a strong showing at all 3 stops at Snowbird, Crystal Mountain, and Kirkwood. His determination for, and passion for, snowboarding was ignited when he was 14 years old, when he first stepped on a slope with Outdoor Outreach. This will be Ryan's third season as a professional and he is looking forward to making it his best yet.
“If I said I was just going to ride the season out and see what happens I'd be lying. I want to push myself, push my riding, and push my experience to levels I know can be reached.†Ryan Hudson, Outdoor Outreach alumni and Gramicci and Ambassador
Jesse Delgado, on the other hand, is already looking forward to the 2012 North Face Masters of Snowboarding. Currently, he is still recovering from an injury that happened during the 2010 Masters event at Snowbird, where he fractured 4 vertebrae and his hip. Jesse is still as determined as ever to make a strong comeback, when healthy.
“I have been stacking knowledge and cannot wait to get back on a board. My injury has only helped to motivate me into being a more cautious, healthy and inspired snowboarder.†Jesse Delgado, Outdoor Outreach alumni and Gramicci and Ambassador
Gramicci is proud to sponsor these up and coming snowboarders, and is eagerly watching the progression of their career and their stewardship of the sports and mentorship at Outdoor Outreach. Jesse and Ryan's core principles, including leadership, focus, responsibility, and commitment, were cultivated through Outdoor Outreach, a program neither of them will soon forget.
