It's clear outdoor industry veteran Phil Carey had fun putting together the product line that will mark his re-entry into the outdoor first aid and medical products category.

Carey and Company Ltd. will introduce a line of 10 new first aid and medical kits spanning from day trips to international travel and expeditionary use ranging in price from $17 to $105 suggested retail. Among the brand-defining products Carey will introduce at Outdoor Retailer's upcoming trade show in Salt Lake City are chewable electrolyte replacement tablets, clever cloud interpretation cards, a medical kit designed for the fast and light set and a waterproof kit for paddlesports enthusiasts.

“Through sourcing unexpected products and state of the art packaging I hope to spice up a category that has been pretty bland the past few years,” said company founder and president Phil Carey. “We're convinced today's consumer will appreciate the creativity we bring to an otherwise serious category.”

The following is a brief synopsis of products that demonstrate the Carey flair.

Lyte'n Go is a low-carb, sugar-free, chewable tablet alternative to sports drinks that helps prevent dehydration and restores lost energy during heat exposure or strenuous activity. The citrus flavored tablets come packed with the essential vitamins, minerals, sodium and potassium to stave off muscle cramping and other discomforts associated with dehydration. May be sold in individual packets of two tabs or a box of 15 packets. MSRP for the box (30 tabs) is $29.95.

Kids enjoy looking for shapes in the clouds while adults know clouds portend impending changes in weather. Now kids and adults alike can take he first step toward becoming amateur meteorologists with Carey's new, original Cloud Cards. The set of 10 credit card-sized cards features photos of different cloud types and identifies them by name, science and what they mean to the weather forecast. MSRP $4.99

The very lightest weight first aid kit in the Carey lineup, the Ultralite 1.0, weighs in at a puny five ounces. Yet the kit contains all the essential tools, bandaging, medications and topicals to treat basic injuries. Aimed at adventure racers, the Ultralite is sure to find favor among any fan of light and fast travel. MSRP $16.99
