Tubbs' Oregon Snowshoe Event Raises Over $12,000

Tubbs’ Oregon Snowshoe Event Raises Over $12,000- a 100% increase from last year's event!

Portland, Oregon – On Saturday, February 25, Tubbs Snowshoes teamed up again with the Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for their fourth annual 'Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer' Snowshoe Series- a combination snowshoe fun run and snowshoe walk held at the White River West Sno-Park.
The event was cosponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Country Walkers, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Q 104 Radio, Remax, Nalgene and the U.S. Forest Service and all the money raised through the event will be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and its local Affiliates, to benefit breast cancer research, education and screening.
Over 380 participants attended this year's event- a 100% increase over the previous year. “This was our 4th annual event and it had the largest crowd and donations yet”, said Paul Adams, race director.
The temperatures were in the low 30's, with high clouds and 10" of new snow had fallen in the last 24 hours, creating perfect snowshoeing conditions. Women, men and children of all ages enjoyed the fresh snow conditions on absolutely gorgeous 3 and 5K snowshoe courses, offering scenic views of Mt. Hood. “This was possibly the most scenic of all of the Romp snowshoe courses”, added Adams.
Winners of the annual Fun Run were Heather Law of Portland, who has won the race two years in a row, and Tom Deggendorf, also from Portland.
The next Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Event Series takes place on March 11 in Frisco, CO.
