Write a haiku in Trailspace's Backcountry Gear Haiku contest, and not only could you win $300 from Backcountry.com, but you could earn the admiration of seven stellar outdoor judges.

From major outdoor publications and blogs to the Bureau of Land Management, these seven, talented, outdoorsy people know the backcountry, outdoor recreation, gear, and words. And they've volunteered to help select the best backcountry gear haiku from contest submissions.

Meet the seven judges in Trailspace's Backcountry Gear Haiku contest:

Trailspace's Backcountry Gear Haiku contest is open now through Wednesday, April 25. To enter, submit a haiku (that's a three-line poem with 5-7-5 syllables each) about outdoor gear in the contest forum.

Community members can vote on their favorite haiku to determine the top ten finalists now with a "Yes" vote. At the end of April, each outdoor judge will select his or her personal favorites from the top ten to determine the overall haiku winners. The top three will win a $300, $150, or $50 gift certificate to Backcountry.com, plus Trailspace swag.
