With the new TrailFlex™ TF500 Harness System, outdoor enthusiasts as diverse as adventure racers, anglers, bird watchers, hikers and bikers, need only have one backpack in their gear closet. The secret to such incredible flexibility is patent-pending Advanced Modular Technology‘ that makes it a cinch to attach and reconfigure more than 20 custom-tailored gear pouches.

“We saw the need for a lightweight, comfortable backpack system that addressed the unique equipment needs of numerous sports,” said Eric Kauss, TrailFlex CEO. “TrailFlex allows you to truly harness the power of your sport with the only system that you can fully customize to your body, your sports and outdoor adventures from day trips to multi-day backcountry outings.”

The basic TrailFlex System starts with a harness with one-liter hydration pouch that retails for $79.95. The System comes in two torso lengths with adjustable lumbar, shoulder, and sternum straps to ensure a body-hugging fit. From there, customization is limited only by one's imagination with more than 20 modular gear pouches, sold separately, that include such items as a cell phone/GPS pouch, binocular holders and medical kit, start at $7.

Using a lightweight 420 denier ripstop nylon fabric in a Mountain Air Blue/Silver Sage color combination on all components, the medium torso harness for torso lengths 15-19 inches weighs only 1.8 pounds, while the large torso harness for torso lengths 19-23 inches weighs just 2.2 pounds.

The basic backpack, at a MSRP of $59.95, is available in Longitude top-load and Latitude panel-load versions. Both are rated to hold up to 50 pounds. The Longitude backpack weighs only 2.1 pounds and boasts a capacity of 3,857 cubic inches. The Latitude backpack weighs just 1.6 pounds with a 3,204 cubic inch capacity. Total weight and capacity are determined by the user's configuration of the System.

“The TrailFlex Harness System is one of the lightest backpack designs on the market, but its major strength is the variable capacity and enormous flexibility offered by the interchangeable modular components,” Kauss said. “That is the beauty of TrailFlex.”

The TrailFlex Harness System debuts to the outdoor and fishing trade this summer as follows: Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Aug. 10-13 in Salt Lake City, Booth #29191, and Fly Fishing Retailer, Aug. 24-26 in Denver, Booth #880.
