MIDDLEBURY, CT – Timex, a leader in outdoor and sports performance timepieces, will showcase its collections of health and wellness products at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2011.

The collection will feature a variety of products from its growing wellness anthology including the Timex® Health Touch™ Plus, a contact heart rate monitor and walk sensor that helps make exercise more effective; Timex® Health Tracker™, with an integrated diet diary and walk sensor to help take the guesswork out of diet and exercise, and Timex® Expedition® Trail Mate™, a rugged collection which offers distance and pace on the wrist and is a value alternative to GPS technology for outdoor walking enthusiasts.

“Timex understands it can be challenging to find time to exercise, and we are dedicated to providing tools that help consumers make every step count,” said Heberto Calves, Vice President of Marketing for Timex. “The Timex Health Touch Plus, Timex Health Tracker and Timex Expedition Trail Mate make the advantages of Timex technology accessible to anyone who is interested in improving health and fitness at any level.”

This assortment of wellness watches aids users in achieving healthier lives with intuitive, durable and affordable watches. Each style offers a distinct set of activity measurement capabilities designed to meet a wide range of consumers pursuing healthy lifestyles.

The Timex Health Touch Plus, the latest addition to the collection, is an easy-to-use heart rate monitor that conveniently offers precise heart rate readings on the wrist with a simple fingertip touch, without the need for a chest sensor. Designed for fitness walkers and gym-goers, the Timex Health Touch Plus also includes a walk sensor that tracks steps, distance and pace through the natural swinging motion of the arm, and a heart rate zone alert to let users know if activity level is at optimal efficiency. Complete with a calorie counter, seven workout memory, countdown timer, water-resistance to 50 meters and INDIGLO® night-light, this reliable tool helps make everyday activity more effective. The watch will be available in full- and mid-size in December 2011 at Sports Specialty retailers worldwide and on Timex.com, priced at $89.95.

The Timex Health Tracker watch features a Walk Sensor and Diet Diary to help take the guesswork out of diet and exercise. After a simple set-up process and without any manual calibration, the watch automatically records steps, distance, calories burned and active time throughout the day by sensing natural swinging motions of the user's arm. It can also conveniently store the number of calories or units consumed, eliminating the need for a pen and journal at every meal. The watch motivates users to stay active by displaying cumulative daily activity on the front of the watch, and sounding an alert when a user is half-way to her daily goal. Designed specifically for women who are looking to lose weight or increase their daily activity, the watch also includes an intuitive workout mode with pace and distance, seven-day activity log, countdown timer, alarms, 50-meter water resistance and INDIGLO® night-light. Designed for everyday wear, the collection includes neutral, charcoal and twilight blue styles, and is currently available worldwide and on Timex.com, priced at $64.95.

The Timex Expedition Trail Mate shows distance and pace on the wrist, and is a value alternative to GPS technology. The set-up is simple and intuitive, without requiring manual calibration. Once the chronograph is started, the integrated accelerometer uses the natural swinging motion of the user's arm to detect steps taken, and then calculates distance and pace. The watch also helps answer that nagging question, “when will we be there?” by estimating time and distance to destination, and sounding a half-way alert. Designed for walkers, hikers and joggers who are interested in tracking their progress, the durable timepiece also tracks calories burned, stores up to 10 workouts, and includes a 100-hour chronograph, countdown timer, alarms, two time zone settings, water-resistance to 100 meters and an INDIGLO® night-light for low-light adventures. The collection is available in a comfortable rubber or Cordura® strap. The reliable and casual watch is currently available at Sports Specialty retailers worldwide and on Timex.com, priced at $64.95.
Earlier this year, Timex released the Timex Health Touch contact heart rate monitor which includes on-demand heart rate, a target zone with heart rate alert, and calories burned. The watch also offers a stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, water resistance to 50 meters and INDIGLO® night-light. Available with a stainless steel top ring in a full or mid-size black case, the Timex Health Touch contact heart rate monitor is currently available at Sports Specialty retailers worldwide and on Timex.com, priced at $59.95.
