Timex, a leader in outdoor and sports performance timepieces, today unveiled the Timex® Expedition® Military collection, an assortment of premium timepieces inspired by historic military and aviation lifestyles. The collection includes the Timex Expedition Military Chronograph and Timex Expedition Military Classic wristwatch.

Reminiscent of World War II-era aviation equipment, the distinctive collection offers a rare blend of style and strength that is simultaneously rugged and timeless.

“The Timex Expedition Military collection embodies many of the Timex Expedition brand's core aesthetic principles, as the brand initially evolved from a military focus to become a pioneer in the outdoor and adventure categories,” said Heberto Calves, Vice President of Marketing at Timex. “This exceptionally versatile collection is equally appropriate in a cockpit, corporate office or backcountry trail.”

The boldly masculine Timex Expedition Military Chronograph watch is distinguished by its authentic tachymeter turning ring, which sits atop the rugged 45mm stainless steel case with a knurled finish. The watch features a 30-minute chronograph measuring 1/20 second, and is available in a durable black Cordura® canvas strap or IP black bracelet.

The classically sharp Timex Expedition Military Classic watch is distinguished by its striking “bulls-eye” design, which elegantly and effortlessly provides simultaneous 12- and 24-hour time readings. The 45mm stainless steel case features a knurled finish, accenting the unique display that is available in three distinct styles: black/grey with black Cordura® canvas strap; black/orange/white with black Cordura® canvas strap, and black/green/white with green Cordura® canvas strap.

Both collections boast an Indiglo® night-light for convenient viewing in dark conditions, an easy-to-set QUICK DATE® feature, a scratch and chip-resistant mineral glass lens, and water-resistance to 100 meters.

The Timex Expedition Military collection will be available at sports specialty retailers internationally and on Timex.com in July 2010 at a price range of $149.95 U.S. (strap) to $199.95 U.S. (bracelet) for the Chronograph and $99.95 U.S. for the Classic style.
