Therm-a-Rest, the Seattle-based leader in premium outdoor comfort, announced today its three-season EvoLite sleeping pad has won the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD 2014.
The EvoLite re-charts the future of self-inflating mattresses by blending award-winning NeoAir comfort with the convenience of self-inflation.
“We’re very excited about the EvoLite and re-introducing self-inflating technology to today’s backpackers,” said Doug Jacot, vice president of Therm-a-Rest. “We’re honored to receive the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD 2014.”
At 1 lb. 1 oz., the EvoLite hinges its blended technology on Atmos™ Foam, the lightest and most compressible foam on the market. Exclusive to Therm-a-Rest, the foam is poured in a closed, atmospherically controlled chamber that allows all gasses to be captured and “scrubbed” before venting, ensuring precision control over uniformity and loft, and the most environmentally-friendly process possible at this time.
AirFrame construction alternates foam and air channels to drastically reduce the weight of traditional foam mattresses while amplifying loft. At 2 inches thick, no other lightweight, self-inflating mattress provides this amount of comfort. Excellent self-inflation allows just a few breaths to top off the mattress for optimal firmness.
The EvoLite mattress will be shown at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in August 2014 and will be available in retail stores in Spring 2015.
