ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Mountain communities in developing countries are expected to receive significant supplemental funding each year from MountainSearch.org, a new search engine launched today through a strategic partnership between http://www.SearchEngineCorp.com, a custom search engine developer and The Mountain Fund, a non-profit organization devoted to eliminating the causes and symptoms of poverty in developing mountain cultures around the world.

MountainSearch.org, the advertiser-supported search engine available at http://www.MountainSearch.org, will donate 50 percent of its gross ad revenue to non-profit organizations supported by The Mountain Fund.

MountainSearch.org is a sister site to CatchTomorrow.org, http://www.CatchTomorrow.org and Charteroo.com, http://www.Charteroo.com, which were launched earlier this year to provide funding to public and charter schools on a similar basis. All of the sites were developed and are administered by Search Engine Corp., of Santa Fe, New Mexico, which plans to launch additional custom web search engines in the coming months to support a range of social and philanthropic causes through advertising revenue generated by these sites.

"We are proud to partner with The Mountain Fund to help increase funding streams to non-profit groups supporting mountain communities," noted Search Engine Corp. founder and CEO Craig Romero. "By providing an easy way for citizens to donate without digging into their pockets, we can provide significant supplemental funding to help support these and other less fortunate communities."

As many as 800 million people are undernourished around the world. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), mountain communities are burdened by a disproportionately high number of malnourished people due to logistical challenges inherent in their locales.

In addition to the MountainSearch.org site, Search Engine Corp. also provides search functionality on The Mountain Fund home page, http://www.MountainFund.org.

"The MountainSearch.org search engine developed by Search Engine Corp. will aid The Mountain Fund in not only gaining much-needed funding for marginalized mountain communities, but also increasing awareness towards the need of proper education, healthcare and overall quality of life in these oft-forgotten communities around the world," said Mountain Fund Executive Director, Scott MacLennan.
