Teton Gravity Research Announces 2018 Ski and Snowboard Film “Rogue Elements,” Presented by REI

JACKSON, WY - August 8, 2017

Teton Gravity Research (TGR), the global leader in action and adventure lifestyle media, is proud to announce its 2017 annual ski and snowboard film, “Rogue Elements,” presented by REI. The film will premiere in Jackson Hole, Wyo., on Saturday, September 16, kicking off an international tour.

“For twenty-two years, we’ve been making films with incredible athletes in harsh environments all over the world. Although we always experience extreme weather, this year felt different,” says Todd Jones, co-founder of TGR. “It was interesting how the whimsical and explosive nature of our cast of athletes so perfectly collided with the rogue nature of the weather this year. It just all came together.”

Rogue Elements, presented by REI, features 20 of the industry’s best athletes, including Angel Collinson, Jeremy Jones, Ian McIntosh, and Elyse Saugstad, as they explore terrain in Jackson Hole, the streets of Minnesota, France, Italy, British Columbia, Alaska, the Sierra mountains, and Bolivia. The film encompasses the inherently rogue nature of these athlete adventures and the wild elements they faced throughout the winter. More information on the film and nationwide tour can be found at tetongravity.com/films/rogueelements.

“We are very excited by our partnership with REI,” says Steve Jones, co-founder and CEO of TGR. “REI is an iconic brand in the outdoor landscape with similar priorities regarding sustainability, equality, and the overall promotion of people pursuing their dreams in the outdoors.”

TGR also introduces its new multimedia series, “Breaking Through,” presented by REI. This series is featured across TGR’s digital channels, and tells the story of six extraordinary female athletes with unique backgrounds and experiences in the action and exploration sports world. “Breaking Through” can be seen on tetongravity.com/breakingthrough, with new features added every three weeks through the end of October.

“We’re thrilled to partner with TGR because of their track record of inspiring people through their films and content,” says Ben Steele, chief creative officer at REI. “The stories we’re sharing with TGR this year represent the connection and fulfillment in the natural and wild places that surround us, and we hope will excite audiences to want to plan their own epic adventures.”
