TARRYTOWN, New York (February 25, 2008)—Terramar (www.terramarsports.com) recently became a bronze sponsor of the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition, OIWC, (www.oiwc.org), a non- profit association of women organized for the purpose of equipping women to reach their professional success in the outdoor industries via educational programming, networking and mentoring. The OIWC has more than 1,000 members in the outdoor, snow sports, biking and adventure travel industries.

“We are pleased to support such a worthy organization as the OIWC,” says Russ Pitman, director of sales and marketing for Terramar. “We look forward to becoming even more involved in the OIWC.”

Terramar was the pioneer in pure silk, performance base layers. With its Thermasilk® products, Terramar set out to deliver a high-performance line of synthetic base layer garments by embracing the development of “high-tech” moisture management fabrics.

Today, Terramar uses a proprietary ec2® Qwik-Dri™ electrostatic technology in its base layers that pulls moisture away from the body. In addition to pure silk, Terramar offers 100% pure merino wool base layers in its Thermawool® collection, Carbon-Silver in its Sonic-X collection, and this year, ThermaTX2™, a new, high-performance 100% pure silk inner layer, 100% merino wool outer layer collection.
