STABIL, the leading U.S. manufacturer of traction footwear for 27 years, and the National Park Foundation (NPF) have partnered to inspire greater participation in recreational activities in America’s national parks. For the next four years, STABIL has committed to donating 5% of sales from both national park vendors and web sales on the STABIL national park program page to the National Park Foundation. Additionally, for purchases made on their website, STABIL offers an opt-in donation to the NPF.
“We are thrilled to be working alongside the National Park Foundation. We want to support national parks and there’s no partner better than NPF,” said John Milburn, STABIL president. “STABIL is a Maine-based company, home to Acadia, Katahdin Woods and Waters, over 3,400 miles of tidal shoreline, 4,600 islands and 281 miles of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; we have a keen awareness of the importance of access to the beauty that surrounds us. This partnership allows us to spread that ethos across the country for the next four years.”
The National Park Foundation, which celebrates 50 years this December of being the official nonprofit partner to the National Park Service, was established by Congress to enrich and support America’s national parks and programs.
STABIL, based in Biddeford, Maine, is home to functional and innovative cleats, designed to provide excellent traction on ice, snow, and uneven terrain. About National Park Foundation
The National Park Foundation is the official charity of America’s national parks and nonprofit partner to the National Park Service. Chartered by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation raises private funds to help PROTECT more than 84 million acres of national parks through critical conservation and preservation efforts, CONNECT all Americans with their incomparable natural landscapes, vibrant culture and rich history, and INSPIRE the next generation of park stewards. In 2016, commemorating the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary, the Foundation launched The Centennial Campaign for America’s National Parks, a comprehensive fundraising campaign to strengthen and enhance the future of these national treasures for the next hundred years.
