Continuing its legacy in developing backpacks that are worn, not carried, Gregory introduces four new pack lines for Spring 2017 that set a new standard in their respective categories. The common theme – going lighter, with better, more ventilated suspension systems, and new approaches to staying hydrated.
In the category of lightweight packs, Gregory unveils its Aerolon Suspension System in the men’s Paragon and women’s Maven packs, resulting in the lightest, most supportive backpack suspension in its weight class. Starting at just under 3 lb., Aerolon suspension offers a ventilated backpanel and uncompromised load stabilization, ensuring the outstandingly comfortable experience for which Gregory is known. Pack sizes in the Paragon and Maven range from 35 to 68 liters. MSRP ranges from $159.95 to $249.95.
In daypacks for hiking and a new pack line for mountain biking, Gregory introduces a new take on hydration, the 3D Hydro. The 3D Hydro works like a reservoir, but dries like a water bottle, solving the now common dilemma of drying your hydration reservoir without growing questionable bacteria. The 3D Hydro reservoir features a patent pending, soft-molded film design that allows the reservoir to retain its 3D shape while drying - allowing it to dry quicker and cleaner than conventional reservoirs.
“We’re all about building packs that eliminate real-world problems and offer better technology, but we also understand that packs themselves aren’t the end-game. Packs are a gateway to new adventure and experiences,” said John Sears, VP of Product Development at Gregory. “Great packs should become an extension of the person wearing them, like a favorite hat or t-shirt. 3D Hydro is available in two new pack lines, the hiking-oriented men’s Citro and women’s Juno, and the mountain-biking oriented men’s Drift and women’s Amasa. 3D Hydro reservoirs are also sold separately in 2- and 3-liter sizes. MSRP for the reservoirs are $33.95 for the 2L and $35.95 for the 3L.
The men’s Citro and women’s Juno are lightweight daypacks featuring Gregory’s low-profile VaporSpan Suspension System, a unique open-air, leaf-spring lumbar design that conforms to your lower back, while allowing open airflow. Gregory’s EVAP wicking technology provides the same structural benefits as mesh, but with greatly improved moisture transfer for better temperature regulation. The men’s Citro and women’s Juno come in three capacities, 20, 25 and 30 liters. MSRPs range from $119.95 to $149.95.
The men’s Drift and women’s Amasa bring Gregory’s 40 years of pack building experience to the mountain-bike market. The core concept of these packs is the Shift RS Suspension System. Shift RS, short for ride stability, features an adjustable hipbelt stabilization system that can be “shifted” higher or lower on your back for the most stable ride position and customized fit to your individual riding style. The Drift and Amasa also feature a foam-matrix back-panel, allowing for a cool, dry ride. The men’s Drift and women’s Amasa come in three capacities, 6, 10 and 14 liters. MSRPs range from $99.95 to $129.95.
The men’s Stout and women’s Amber also saw a redesign in Spring 2017, making it easier than ever before to get superb fit in an aggressively priced backpack. The Stout and Amber unveil the new TrailFlex Suspension System that offers a single frame size with an incredibly wide range of adjustment. The new TrailFlex design also offers superb back-panel ventilation. The result is an incredibly comfortably wearing pack featuring Gregory’s proprietary fit, in a versatile pack that is adventure-ready. The Stout and Amber come in five capacities ranging from 28 to 75 liters. MSRP ranges from $129.95 to $199.95.
