SPRI Products, a GAIAM company and a leading distributor of rubberized resistance products and fitness accessories, is proud to congratulate Michael Ventrella, Season 9's winner of NBC-TV's hit series, “The Biggest Loser.” During the show, the 30-year-old, Chicago native, Ventrella shed an incredible 227 pounds – over 43% of his starting weight of 530 pounds – which earned him the grand prize of $250,000. Michael started out as the heaviest constestant in the history of the show, but showed great determination in his fight.

Every season for the past 9 seasons of the reality show, SPRI products have helped contestants achieve remarkable weight loss and physical transformation.

Ventrella, and all show participants, are challenged by rigorous sweat sessions with numerous SPRI Products, including rubberized tubing and bands, medicine balls, dumbbells and weighted bars, stability balls, plyometric boxes, aquatic tools and much more. Upon leaving the show, individuals take home a variety of SPRI exercise accessories to help continue their progress.

“As the pioneer of rubberized resistance training, we've been the professional's choice in health clubs and among personal trainers,” said Herb Flentye, CEO of SPRI. “It is inspiring to be the preferred fitness accessory on such a motivational program where people experience tremendous life change.”

As one of the product sponsors of the television program, SPRI each year discusses equipment needs with show staff that consult with professional show trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. The unscripted program challenges overweight and obese contestants to shed pounds safely through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for prizes.

Debuting in 2002, “The Biggest Loser” now airs in more than 90 countries and is produced in 25 countries. In the U.S., it airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern Time/7 p.m. Central Time.
SPRI's comprehensive spectrum of products includes its extensive line of rubberized resistance bands; weighted resistance bars and dumbbells; sports and conditioning items such as mini hurdles, jump ropes and agility ladders; balance and stability boards and disks; kickboxing tools; exercise mats; and a variety of educational resources such as DVDs, training guides and wall charts.
