SmartWool® announces first ever ‘Serve-A-Palooza' day to benefit Routt County Foundation for Senior Citizens & International Mountain Bicycling Association

More than 35 employee volunteers, in partnership with Routt County Foundation for Senior Citizens & International Mountain Bicycling Association

SmartWool Corporation announces it's first-ever Servapalooza, a global celebration of service driven by our colleagues at the Timberland Company. On September 21, 2006, more than 6200 Timberland volunteers around the world will act on their common commitment to make a difference in their communities through service.

In Steamboat Springs, roughly 26 SmartWool employees will spend the day working with Routt County Foundation for Senior Citizens. SmartWool employees will clean-up, paint, help clients with personal projects and generally improve and beautify the physical space of two un-assisted senior living centers in Steamboat Springs, CO. Additionally, 9 members of the SmartWool Boulder satellite office will be participating in a trail building project with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) for the Boulder County Parks & Open Space at the Heil Valley Ranch.

The Steamboat Springs service events take place in two locations; Selbe Apartments located at 500 Rolling Stone Rd. & Mountain View Manor located at 629 Pine St. The Boulder service event takes place at the Heil Trailhead in Boulder, CO.

Routt County Foundation for Senior Citizens, Inc. (RCF) operates rental housing in a not-for-profit manner. RCF makes a significant contribution to the public welfare by providing rental housing for Steamboat Springs' senior citizens age 62 and older, persons with low income, and handicapped and/or disabled applicants. The Routt County Foundation for Senior Citizens makes charges for rental housing necessary only to amortize cost of construction, operation, and maintenance in as economical a manner as possible.
