BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – May 15, 2006 – Octane Fitness, a leading manufacturer of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers, introduces the Pro450 elliptical cross trainer, which boasts the revolutionary SmartStride interactive ergonomics and is ideally suited toward lighter traffic fitness facilities.
“The Pro450 perfectly complements our existing line of health club quality ellipticals and goes a step further with the extremely popular SmartStride,” said Tim Porth, executive vice president of product development and marketing for Octane Fitness.
Loaded with Popular Features
Built with Octane's trademark Body-Mapping Ergonomics and patented QuadLink drive, the Pro450 offers exact inertia and smooth, fluid motion that replicates walking, jogging and running. The closest pedal spacing in the industry further maximizes comfort and virtually eliminates potential back stress.
For the ultimate in customization, electronically adjustable stride length lets exercisers change from 18 inches to 23 inches with the touch of a button.
Even better, Octane's proprietary SmartStride interactive ergonomics custom-fit individuals by monitoring each user's pace and direction and automatically adjusting stride length accordingly. Based on biomechanical research, SmartStride lengthens strides when exercisers move faster and shortens them when users move at a slower pace. In addition, pedaling backwards shortens the stride naturally.
The proprietary MultiGrip handlebars offer a variety of ergonomically correct positions so every size exerciser – tall, short, slight and broad – can easily find a comfortable area from which to push and pull.
Delivering Extraordinary Exercise
Workouts are anything but routine when exercisers can take advantage of five variable stride programs that uniquely combine stride length, direction and resistance level to boost motivation and break through plateaus. For example, the unparalleled ArmBlaster alternates between steady resistance and periods of 10 intense repetitions for the upper body.
Octane's unique X-Mode capitalizes on the benefits of total-body cross training by prompting exercisers to push or pull with their arms, squat, go in reverse and more—like a virtual personal trainer. The GluteKicker attacks the hips, glutes and thighs with rigorous lower-body movements.
Plus, the Pro450 is equipped with five interactive HeartLogic Intelligence workouts, digital contact heart rate sensors and wireless telemetry to ensure customized, effective training.
Backed by a three-year warranty on parts and one year on labor, the Pro450 is sold to fitness facilities direct from Octane Fitness and at specialty fitness retail stores nationwide with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $4,999.
