Multi-Use Tents, All-Weather Sleeping Bags and Hunting Packs Address Changing Customer Demand

GUNBARREL, COLO. (August 5, 2015) – As part of its brand relaunch, Slumberjack (www.slumberjack.com), known for its 57-year prowess in the outdoor and hunting categories, will introduce a more robust line of tents and sleeping bags for the outdoor customer at this summer’s Outdoor Retailer. Focusing on the next generation of outdoorsmen and women, the gear for 2016 features additional versatility, functionality and performance. The tents excel in all weather, especially the harshest conditions, while the new sleeping bags provide best in class comfort. In addition, Slumberjack will add new styles to its successful hunting pack line. New products will be on display at booth #10026 at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Aug. 5-8, in Salt Lake City.

“Spring 2016 is about returning to our roots and our heritage of providing the best possible gear for the outdoor sportsmen and women,” said Russell Rowell, vice president of Slumberjack. “However, our customer profile is changing. We are seeing a younger devotee who is passionate about hunting and the outdoors. This next generation is looking for gear that is lighter, multi-functional, easier to transport and showcases the best performance. We are applying our decades of experience to our new products, collaborating with renowned pros and engaging in a robust social media effort to increase our dialog with our loyal customers.”

Slumberjack will introduce two new tents styles, the In-Season Tent and the Daybreak Tent series. The In-Season Tent ($269.95) is a four-season, cold weather, “go anywhere” tent that can withstand late winter storms. The burly three-door full coverage waterproof fly keeps the weather out, while keeping users and their gear dry. The design is very stabile, has five ventilation options for maximum airflow and unmatched condensation management. The Ridge Pole Geometry results in maximum interior space.

The Daybreak Tents ($89.95 to $199.95 and available in two, three, four and six person capacity) are dependable at the campground or on the trail. The simple pole configuration allows for plenty of living space while still being quick and easy to set up. The full coverage fly keeps users dry from the elements. A large dual zip vestibule provides an entry along with ventilation and turns into an awning with trekking or staff poles.

Part of the Mountain Bag line, the Lapland sleeping bags ($119.95 to $219.95) have DriDown, a hydrophobic down insulation that stays dry longer and dries faster than untreated down. Double-Dri panels on the hood and foot box are waterproof adding moisture control. Twin zip arm ports provide “arms out” dexterity, while a Solar Liner provides rapid drying in the sun. The Lapland Sleeping Bag is available in options ranging from -20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The bags’ full-length dual zippers create great ventilation zones and comfort, include a stuff bag for portability and are available in sizes regular or long.

In the hunting pack category, Slumberjack is adding the Mandrake color to its popular Bounty 4500 offering. Featuring Kryptek, the pack is designed for high elevation hunts and big game. The Bounty 4500 ($299.95) is the largest, most fully featured pack in the line. It includes a detachable field pack with organizational pockets for quick trips away from camp and a built-in rifle-shooting platform.
