WINTER PARK, COLO. (October 27, 2009) -- As forecasters call for the first substantial snowfall in the high country and snowmaking crews fire up the resort's intricate snowmaking system this week, Winter Park Resort, in collaboration with the Winter Park/Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce, is unveiling the best early season promotion in its 70-year history: Free lift tickets from Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, Opening Day, to Christmas Day 2009.

“Travelers are looking for great deals and, while Winter Park is already known for being one of the most affordable and family-friendly resorts, this promotion clearly steps up our efforts during tough economic times,” said Rob Perlman, vice president of sales and marketing at Winter Park Resort. “Winter Park, the oldest ski resort in Colorado, combines a rich heritage with the best of on- and off- mountain experiences, providing a wide range of options for winter sport devotees. We are pleased to be celebrating our Platinum Anniversary in partnership with the town of Winter Park.”

Winter Park will provide free lift tickets when guests book a minimum of two nights of lodging between Opening Day and Christmas Day. Skiers and riders will get one free lift ticket per night booked, regardless of the size of the unit or number of people in the party. The “Ski Free at Winter Park” lodging package* is available at http://www.playwinterpark.com or by calling 800-979-9874. Skiers and riders are encouraged to book early because lift ticket quantities are limited.

Located just 67 miles from Denver, Winter Park Resort has been Colorado's Favorite® resort for generations of skiers and snowboarders who are looking for a big mountain experience at a great value. The resort has invested more than $40 million in on-mountain improvements in the last five years, not including the new Village at Winter Park just completed this past winter.

“Skiers and riders know that Winter Park gets tremendous snow, offers a great all around mountain experience with exceptional guest service, all at an affordable price,” continued Perlman. “What many don't realize is Winter Park has made incredible improvements recently making it a great destination at an even better value.”

*Valid for new reservations only and cannot be combined with any other offers. The Ski Free at Winter Park package is valid on lodging stays of two nights or more for guests arriving the night before Opening Day (Nov. 17) and good through stays on Christmas night. Offer is only valid while the supplies of the free lift tickets last. A $50 refundable deposit is due at the time of booking and payment in full is due 7 days prior to arrival. Cancellations 3 days or less prior to arrival are non-refundable. One lift ticket will be provided for each night stayed regardless of unit size or number of people in the party. Add-on lift tickets at a reduced rate are available. Other restrictions apply so call or go on-line for details. Offer subject to change at any time without notice.
