WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 21, 2006 – They are timely and targeted! That's one way to describe SGMA's Single Sport Participation Studies. Right now, 20 sports participation reports are available online at www.SGMA.com. Each report contains key information on historical participation trends, demographic data, gender profiles, ‘Quickfacts,' and statistical charts. This is the third straight year that this research has been made available by SGMA.

SGMA's Single Sport Participation Studies contain information not found in SGMA's SuperStudy® of Sports Participation. For instance, there is a narrative overview; charts showing historical trends; and data on geographic regions, featuring a map of the US.

The 20 sports now available for download at www.SGMA.com are:

baseball, basketball, billiards/pool, bowling, golf, ice hockey, inline skating, lacrosse, martial arts, paintball, Pilates training, running/jogging, skateboarding, snowboarding, soccer (indoor), soccer (outdoor), fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball, walking (recreational), and yoga/tai chi

Reports can also be ordered on the other 80+ sports/activities which are listed in the SGMA/American Sports Data SuperStudy of Sports Participation -- on a case-by-case basis. Those other sports/activities range from fitness pursuits like treadmills to water sports such as scuba diving to team sports like tackle football to individual sports like fly fishing. This “special order” research will take three business days to complete and can be ordered through www.SGMA.com.
