Science in Sport, the leading sports nutrition company and makers of the world’s first Isotonic Energy Gel, today announced its 2019 US Elite Ambassadors. Science in Sport is now the official nutrition sponsor of ultra runner Cat Bradley, paratriathlete Mohamed Lahna, and two elite triathletes, Ben Kanute and Taylor Spivey.
All four ambassadors will use the full line of Science in Sport products for training, racing, and recovery. These four ambassadors will join a growing cadre of elite American athletes, including the USA Cycling and USA Triathlon national teams, who turn to Science in Sport for cutting-edge nutrition strategies and innovative products that allow them to compete at the highest levels of sport.
Team USA triathlete Taylor Spivey turned to Science in Sport’s Isotonic Energy Gels after years of intense stomach pains and indigestion issues caused by using traditional sports nutrition products. When fueling with the Isotonic Energy Gels during races, Spivey found that her stomach issues had minimized, and that she had more energy overall. “The SiS Isotonic Energy Gels have been a game changer for me,” said Spivey. “I’m looking forward to having the gels help me reach my biggest triathlon goals in 2019.” Spivey will rely on SiS products in her bid to represent the United States in the 2020 Olympics.
2016 Paralympics bronze medalist Mohamed Lahna will fuel with the full Science in Sport endurance products as he trains for the Wildflower Long Distance Triathlon and prepares for the USA Para-cycling National Team qualifications. He is also aiming to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Lahna primarily fuels with the SiS Rego Rapid Recovery to minimize his recovery window during racing and training. “During training, it’s critical to be able to recovery quickly and move onto the next workout,” said Lahna. “The Rego Rapid Recovery achieves this goal while delivering quality nutrition without upsetting my stomach.”
Ultramarathoner Cat Bradley, winner of the Western States 100, also switched to fueling with Science in Sport’s Isotonic Energy Gels after facing stomach issues from traditional endurance products. Bradley primarily fuels with the Isotonic Energy Gel line, while incorporating REGO Rapid Recovery Powder for her training, racing, and recovery needs. “When I use the REGO Rapid Recovery Powder, I have full confidence that I’m getting the most out of my training,” said Bradley. “I take this powder after every run as it tastes great and never upsets my stomach.” Bradley is aiming to win the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc race this summer.
SiS will also support 2016 US Olympian and two-time Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon winner Ben Kanute, who finds that being able to use SiS Isotonic Energy Gels without also having to drink extra water allows him to focus completely on his race, without worrying about his nutrition or hydration. Kanute relies heavily on the SiS GO Electrolyte powders and the newly released Beta Fuel sports drink. “Through my years of endurance racing, I’ve found that calories and electrolytes are the most essential in advancing performance,” said Kanute. “Both the GO Electrolyte powder and Beta Fuel have provided me with enough of both to achieve maximum performance during my races.”
“We are proud to sponsor and supply nutrition to this remarkable group of elite endurance athletes,” said Naomi Mills, US Country Manager of Science in Sport. “All four athletes represent diverse backgrounds and extraordinary achievements. We are delighted to welcome the 2019 Elite Ambassadors to the Science in Sport team and look forward to supporting them with our innovative nutrition products throughout their training and racing this year.”
