VANTAA, FINLAND (January 20, 2020) – Providing kids the freedom and joy to be active outdoors in any weather, Reima, the world’s leading premium performance wear brand for children, is announcing the debut of their Autumn/Winter 2020 collection at Outdoor Retailer Outdoor + Snow Show in Denver, Colorado this month. The Finnish brand has been getting kids outside for 75 years and continues to do so with its new winter collection that is functional, yet free from harmful chemicals.
After their introduction into the North American market in Fall 2018, Reima is continuing to share their mission of providing kids with the freedom to be active and play outdoors, in any weather by designing safe, sustainable, functional activewear durable enough to pass from one generation to the next.
With new material innovations and recycling initiatives for 2020, Reima will be introducing the first children’s winter jacket made from mono-material polyester, designed to be 100% recyclable. If that isn’t unique enough, the winter collection also includes coffee fibre responsible down jackets. Small particles of carbonized ground coffee are spun in the polyester to give the fibres rapid heat storage, anti-static properties - and a beautiful sheen.
“We’re proudly Finnish, and our Nordic know-how inspires us to give the benefits of an active childhood to all,” explains Reima USA President, Emma Aer. “By always keeping children’s wellbeing as our focus, we will also make responsible, sustainable choices as a company. If kids have the chance to enjoy the outdoors, they will also have an interest in protecting the environment they’ve enjoyed.”
A few of the most anticipated products from the Autumn/Winter 2020 collection includes:
Kulkija, Reimatec Winter Jacket (MSRP: $189.95)
The first recyclable kids winter jacket of the future: made from mono-material. When it is finally too worn out to protect little adventurers from snow and cold, it can be fully recycled and become the material for new products. Designed using Reima’s fluorocarbon-free water and dirt repellent finish (Bionic-Finish® Eco).
Gotland, Toddler’s Winter Overall (MSRP: $149.95)
This toddler’s unicolored winter overall features a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish and breathable and windproof material with waterproof sealed seams. The insulated seat keeps the bottom warm while the smooth polyester lining makes getting dressed easy. Durable silicone foot loops keep the leg ends in place protecting little ankles from moist and cold.
Silda and Sprig, Reimatec Winter Jackets (MSRP: $169.95)
Designed for extra visibility and safety, this water and windproof Reimatec kids' winter jacket comes with a reflecting print. Lined with smooth polyester, the jacket is easy to put on and the breathable material ensures your child remains cool after activity. The handy Play Layers snap button system allows for Reima mid-layers to be attached for simple layering solutions.
Heiberg and Beringer, Coffee Fibre Down Jackets (MSRP: $134.95)
Just like a cup of hot coffee can warm you internally, these 2-in-1 down jackets made of heat-storing coffee bean shimmer fabric are true cold-weather happiness for kids. Small particles of carbonized ground coffee are spun in the polyester to give the fibres rapid heat storage & anti-static properties - and a beautiful sheen. And the Responsible Down Standard certification ensures that the ducks and geese are happy, too.
Laplander, Reimatec Boots (MSRP: $99.95)
These waterproof kids' winter boots come with a Vibram Arctic Grip outsole made from an anti-slip material that gives outstanding traction on wet icy surfaces. Made from vegan and synthetic waterproof materials, they also have a seam-sealed insert and warm fleece lining plus 200 grams of insulation – so toes stay warm!
Reima will be showcasing their entire AW20 collection at Outdoor Retailer Outdoor + Snow Show from January 29-31, 2020 at the Colorado Convention Center, Booth # 39038-UL.
